In this Youtube video I show how to make chum for fishing using things I purchased at the dollar tree. I take you through the entire process, start to finish. When finished, I even take the frozen chum bag out on a fishing adventure and demonstrated how well it works. This project was a huge success, inexpensive and easy to make.
Things you need:
1. Blender or food processor
2. Fish, shrimp, chicken or whatever you desire to grind up to put in your chum basket
3. A mesh laundry bag from the Dollar Tree
4. Some laundry cloths line chord from the Dollar Tree
5. Something to weight the chum line down with so it stays on the bottom if you are bottom fishing
I could have gotten away with making this a really cheap adventure if I'd not purchased three ten ounce let fishing weights to sink the chum basket with.
Here's how to make chum for fishing:
1. Save all of your junk fish
2. Chop or grind them up using whatever appliances or grinders you have
3. Scoop the fish chum into your Dollar Tree mesh bag
4. Wrap the mesh bag with a plastic bag and place it in the freezer
In the end, I love the way the whole project went. The end result was an awesome chum bag that didn't cost a lot of money.
Next time you are out fishing and you catch junk or trash fish, consider keeping a few of them to use as ingredients in your chum bag.
